Plastic Surgeon charged with murder: A Tampa-area plastic surgeon has been charged with murder in the death of a lawyer who has been missing since last week from a company that represents former coworkers the doctor is prosecuting in a business disagreement.

On Saturday, Largo officers arrested Dr. Tomasz Kosowski on a first-degree murder allegation in the disappearance of Steven Cozzi, who was last seen Tuesday at his workplace, Blanchard Law.

The Lawyer’s body has not been found.

While Cozzi’s body has not been discovered, police say they have proof that he was murdered by Kosowski.

They claimed Cozzi’s wallet, phone, and keys were discovered in the law office, as well as a large quantity of blood in the restroom. They claim they saw a suspicious individual and vehicle at the workplace, which led them to Kosowski. A investigation of the doctor’s Tarpon Springs residence turned up evidence that led to his arrest, according to authorities. They didn’t go into detail.

Blanchard Law has been defending Kosowski’s former boss and coworkers in a four-year-old lawsuit he brought against them. Jake Blanchard, the firm’s principal partner, did not reply quickly to an email and phone message requesting comment on Sunday.

According to the complaint, Kosowski started working for Laufer Institute of Plastic procedure in 2016, primarily performing breast reconstruction procedure. He claimed that the lady Laufer Institute designated to do his insurance accounting failed to submit claims and misled to his patients, costing him tens of thousands of dollars and leading to bad internet evaluations of him.

“Dr. K’s promising young career has essentially been obliterated” by the woman’s actions, Kosowski lawsuit says. “Through no fault of his own, his career was put directly in jeopardy and his reputation has been deeply tarnished.”

In 2018, he departed Laufer Institute to start his own business. The Laufer Institute did not quickly respond to a request for comment on Sunday.

Neighbors told CBS station WTSP-TV that Kosowski was a nice man who was very conversational when he went to community functions. They expressed surprise at the news.

Michael Montgomery, who claims to be Cozzi’s spouse, wrote on Facebook on Sunday that Cozzi was “stolen” from them.
